The Katie Ride is a premier bicycle touring event catering to cyclists of all abilities. The annual fundraiser is held on beautiful Amelia Island and features routes of 100 miles, 62 miles, 36 miles, 18 miles, fun ride and an off-road ride through Fort Clinch. The event was created in 2005 to raise awareness for organ donation and support the Katie Caples Foundation nationally recognized organ donor education program. The 11th anniversary of the event is Saturday, April 18, 2015.
Katie Walk & Fun Run
The Katie Walk was introduced in 2009 by popular demand as an alternative to the ride and the Fun Run was added in 2014. Both the Walk and Fun Run are routed through Egans Creek Greenway and courses over uneven trails and paths.
Family Fun Ride
The Family Fun Ride is a great alternative to the longer road routes and is perfect for recreational cyclists and kids. This year there are two Family Fun Routes. There is a 1.2 mile route and a 2.4 mile route through Egans Creek Greenway.
