SPARK

SPARK is a group-based, 6-week program, designed to help Age 50 & Better navigate midlife transitions and explore the next step of the journey.

The program consists of a structured curriculum led by the Y and trusted community partners. We are piloting this program at the Winston Y every Thursday from September 26 – October 31, 2019.


Curriculum

Week 1: Wellbeing Assessment

September 26 (6:00pm – 7:30pm)

Evaluate your whole-person health relative to 7 Dimensions using the ICAA’s Model and set goals.
With a Certified Health & Wellness Coach

Week 2: Mine Your Mastery & Reframe Your Identity

October 3 (6:00pm – 7:30pm)

Learn about the psychology of life transitions. Discuss challenges, hopes and fears associated with life’s “third phase”.
With Baptist AgeWell

Week 3: Personalized Activity Plan

October 10 (6:00pm – 7:30pm)

Fitness after 50; learn “must do” exercises for Age 50 & Better. And know which exercises to avoid.
With YMCA Healthy Living Director

Week 4: Passion for Purpose

October 17 (6:00pm – 7:30pm)

Learn how volunteerism, education & second careers increase longevity and improve quality of life. Get connected with tools and resources to put purpose into practice.
With AARP

Week 5: Financial Literacy and Preparedness

October 24. (6:00pm – 7:30pm)

Learn about strategies for debt reduction and the “must have” legal documents every Age 50 & Better needs to hand.
With Raymond James

Week 6: FREEDOM

October 31 (6:00pm – 7:30pm)

Learn about the value of the Bucket List! Create your own wish list while being inspired with ideas for travel destinations.
With AAA Travel

Y Members: $75
Non-members: $125*
*Includes 6 week membership at the Winston Y.
