The Y believes believes everyone should learn to enjoy the water safely.
That’s why we’re hosting Splash Bash, a free swimming event and community open house on Saturday, June 8.

DJ DID IT!
Jaguars wide receiver DJ Chark knows how important it is to know how to be safe around water. In summer 2018, he finally overcame his fear of the water and learned how to swim at the Winston Family YMCA. DJ shared his story in The Florida Times-Union and with WJXT/News4Jax anchor Joy Purdy:
DJ surprised some of the Y’s Tiger Academy scholars by jumping into the pool during their Safety Around Water lessons at the Winston Family YMCA.
I had so much fun! https://t.co/hK9VFYAclG

SWIM TEAM
The YMCA’s Safety Around Water (SAW) program helps children learn essential water safety skills and how to save themselves in case of an accidental fall into the water. Thanks to generous donations and grants, this program is free. Financial assistance is also available for other swim programs.
