First Coast YMCA Announces New Metro Board of Directors Chair

Smith has been serving on Metro Board since 2017

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Nov. 12, 2025 – The First Coast YMCA is announcing Pam Smith as the new Chair for its Metropolitan Board of Directors. Smith began her term on October 1, leading a committed and engaged team of community leaders who oversee the Y’s mission to strengthen the community across Northeast Florida. She is the first African-American woman to serve as Chair of the First Coast YMCA Metropolitan Board.

“Pam has been an integral part of our Metro Board for more than eight years and provides invaluable insight into the guidance of the organization,” said First Coast YMCA CEO and President Eric Mann. “Her term as Chair will help usher in our next chapter as we continue to grow our impact in the region.”

Smith is currently the Founder & CEO of PF Smith Consulting, a boutique consulting firm that provides interim CFO services, creates strategic plans and solves financial challenges. Prior to founding her firm, Smith was a senior executive in corporate finance for over 25 years at Procter & Gamble, Bank of America, Sara Lee, Redbox and Estee Lauder Companies. She also serves on the boards of the American Pop Corn Company (a privately held food company) and Commissioning Agents, Inc. (a private ESOP company).

“It’s been an honor serving the Northeast Florida community for the past eight years through the First Coast YMCA, which is a critical resource for residents to live a healthy life,” said Smith. “I’m excited about where the organization is going and am humbled to serve as its next Metro Board of Directors Chair.”

Smith follows Gary Norcross, who completed his two-year term as chair in September. She continues the tradition of outstanding volunteer leadership as the third woman to hold this position, following trailblazing leaders Peggy Bryan (2016) and Michelle “Shelly” Boynton (2018).
