First Coast Y’s Before and Afterschool Program Rated #1 in Country for Impact

Before and Afterschool Registration Now Open for 2018-2019 School Year

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – July 31, 2018 – As summer winds down and the new school year quickly approaches, parents and caregivers should be considering how to keep their children engaged during the critical hours afterschool. Recently ranked No. 1 in the country for impact, the First Coast Y’s Before and Afterschool program is offering programs to school-aged children throughout Northeast Florida to keep youth active, busy and engaged during out-of-school time.

This impressive distinction was based on SEER Analytics surveys from parents at YMCA Before and Afterschool programs nationwide. SEER Analytics is an independent, third party company that assists YMCAs and other organizations across the United States to set benchmarks, quantify their impact and ultimately improve their programs & services.

“At the Y, we know all kids have potential. That’s why we support their academic, physical and social-emotional development with programs that don’t just ensure success in school – they help kids realize who they are and all they can achieve,” said Eric K. Mann, President and CEO of the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast. “We are honored by the SEER ranking which showcases the commitment of our Before and Afterschool leaders, as well as the quality of our programming.

Before and Afterschool child care is available for children ages 5 – 12 at more than 40 sites across the First Coast. Some of these sites also offer Before and Afterschool care for middle school students. Through a well-rounded approach to youth development, the Y offers activities in a caring and safe environment during the critical hours after school. Whether through physical fitness, proper nutrition, academic support or character development, the Y nurtures the potential of youth throughout the school year.
