Community Fitness Classes and Events

Community fitness classes and events hosted by the Y bring people together, promote a sense of belonging, and foster a strong community spirit. They provide opportunities for individuals to socialize, learn new things, and make connections with others who share their interests.


Our community classes and events are FREE and open to the entire community. All you have to do is show up!

  • All participants will be required to sign a waiver prior to class/event start. You can view the waivers ahead of time by clicking here.

MULTI-LEVEL YOGA

Mondays from 6:00 – 7:00am
Winston Family YMCA Lawn

This class is suitable for participants of all levels…from the newer yogi just starting out, to the experienced practitioner.  Enjoy both standing and floor-based poses with connection to breath.  Some experience is helpful, but not required.


TAI CHI

Mondays from 9:00 – 9:45am
Winston Family YMCA Lawn

Originally developed in ancient China for self-defense, the ancient art of Tai Chi uses gentle flowing movements to promote serenity and reduce the stress of today’s busy lifestyle.  Tai Chi provides a workout aimed to focus on improving well-being, strength, balance, and focus. It is “meditation in motion.”


BODYBALANCE®

Mondays from 6:30 – 7:15pm
Winston Family YMCA Lawn

LES MILLS BODYBALANCE® is the Yoga, Tai Chi, and Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength, all while leaving you feeling centered and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration, and a carefully-structured series of stretches, moves, and poses set to music create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance.


WALKING GROUP

Tuesdays from 7:15 – 8:15am
Meet at the Winston Family YMCA Lawn

Take a STEP towards a healthier you…lets find friends, fitness, and fun!  Join us at the Winston Family YMCA Lawn, and let’s walk together while enjoying our beautiful Florida weather!   Walk will last approximately 45 to 60 minutes.


ZUMBA®

Tuesdays from 6:00 – 7:00pm
Friendship Fountain

Move to a fusion of Latin and international music! A dynamic, exciting, effective fitness class maximizing caloric output, fat-burning, and total-body toning. Dance your way into fitness!
This free class along the St. Johns River is offered at Friendship Fountain.


BELLY DANCING

Tuesdays from 6:45 – 7:45pm
Winston Family YMCA Lawn

Come join us for a fun, lively belly dance class, where everyone will learn basic belly dance steps to energizing, upbeat music!


BODYCOMBAT®

Wednesdays from 5:30 – 6:15pm
Winston Family YMCA Lawn

This non-contact, martial arts-based fitness program from LES MILLS features moves drawn from karate, tae kwon do, kung fu, kickboxing, muay thai and tai chi. Each BODYCOMBAT® class is choreographed to tracks of the latest music, providing an exhilarating experience that delivers ultra-fast fitness results.

A different challenge every class! This workout offers a variety of class structures designed to improve muscular and cardiovascular endurance as well as strength, agility, core, and overall fitness.

Walkers, runners, joggers – all levels are welcome! Simply for fun, racing, fitness, social, the possibilities are endless. Come try it out!
