Community Fitness Classes and Events

Community fitness classes and events hosted by the Y bring people together, promote a sense of belonging, and foster a strong community spirit. They provide opportunities for individuals to socialize, learn new things, and make connections with others who share their interests.


Our community classes and events are FREE and open to the entire community. All you have to do is show up!

BODYCOMBAT®

Mondays from 6:00 – 6:45am 
Winston Family YMCA Lawn

This non-contact, martial arts-based fitness program from LES MILLS features moves drawn from karate, tae kwon do, kung fu, kickboxing, muay thai and tai chi. Each BODYCOMBAT® class is choreographed to tracks of the latest music, providing an exhilarating experience that delivers ultra-fast fitness results.
This FREE community class is offered along the St. Johns River at the Winston Family YMCA Lawn.


LES MILLS SHAPES

Mondays from 6:00 – 6:45pm
Artist Walk, Downtown Jacksonville

Enjoy an invigorating blend of Pilates, barre, and power yoga set to modern beats.  With small, controlled movements, you will sculpt and strengthen all major muscle groups, improve alignment, and increase flexibility.  It’s a low-impact but intense way to heat up your training!

BODYBALANCE®

Mondays from 6:30 – 7:15pm
Winston Family YMCA Lawn

LES MILLS BODYBALANCE® is the Yoga, Tai Chi, and Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength, all while leaving you feeling centered and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration, and a carefully-structured series of stretches, moves, and poses set to music create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance. Please bring a mat to best enjoy this experience.

Join the YMCA for a fun, challenging workout during which participants will be guided through using different weight-training and resistance equipment to build overall strength and endurance!

Friendship Fountain

Move to a fusion of Latin and international music! A dynamic, exciting, effective fitness class maximizing caloric output, fat-burning, and total-body toning. Dance your way into fitness!

Multi-Level Yoga

Wednesdays from 12:30 – 1:30pm  **ON HIATUS UNTIL FALL**
Winston Family YMCA Lawn

This class is suitable for participants of all levels…from the newer yogi just starting out, to the experienced practitioner.  Enjoy both standing and floor-based poses with connection to breath.  Some experience is helpful, but not required. Please bring a mat to best enjoy this experience.
