Brown Family YMCA Renovations

At the Y, we share a purpose to strengthen community. Every day, we are transforming lives by empowering young people, improving health and well-being and inspiring action.

The Ponte Vedra Beach YMCA has been improving the health of its community for more than 20 years. The 43,000 square-foot branch in Ponte Vedra Beach opened in 1999 and serves 2,300 family and senior member units averaging over 16,000 visits per month.

To continue the Y’s impactful work for generations to come, it is important to provide to the community a facility that meets today’s needs. An enhanced YMCA in Ponte Vedra Beach will create open environments allowing members to engage in health and wellness programs and will position our organization to respond to future community opportunities and challenges.

Making Strides Toward a Brighter Future

With the help of generous donors, we are committed to raising $4.1 million so that we can continue to help our neighbors live healthier in spirit, mind and body. A generous naming gift from the Brown Family Foundation kicks off a new Capital Campaign for a multimillion dollar expansion and renovation project at the Ponte Vedra Beach YMCA location.

This project will bring about significant improvements to our facility, allowing us to better serve our members and participants by:

  • Ensuring everyone reaches their full potential.
  • Providing active older adults with a place to belong and connect
  • Offering families quality time together
  • Establishing ourselves as a comprehensive wellness resource in the ever-evolving health and fitness landscape

Renovations and Enhancements

  • Inviting Lobby
  • Updated Wellness Center
  • Revitalized Teen Center
  • Enhanced KidZone
  • Renovated Locker Rooms
  • Overall Facility Improvements

We have already completed work in the Gymnasium and introduced the Maguire Family Pickleball Center, which has served more than 1,000 people through since it’s opening in June 2023.

Why It Matters

By investing in our building, we are investing in more opportunities to develop the potential of children and teens, give our active older adults a place to belong and connect, provide families with quality time together and establish ourselves as a total wellness resource in an ever-evolving health and fitness landscape.

The Y is committed to building a healthier, stronger First Coast overall. Making improvements to Ys in communities such as Ponte Vedra Beach enables us to expand our programs and services in under resourced communities while also strengthening the stability of all our operations across Northeast Florida.

Brown Family Foundation + YMCA

Our goal with the Stronger For Our Community campaign and the Brown Family YMCA is for this Y to grow its reach and impact on the community by having the best facilities, programs and resources. We see this happening through:

  • Upgrading the facility to provide more space with state-of-the-art equipment
  • Offering best-in-class programs that address a wider range of health goals
  • Serving the holistic wellness needs of more families in the community
  • Providing children a safe and fun place to be active and pursue their health and education interests

We are excited to join our community in helping this Y become a leading facility in its ability to provide access to and serve the needs of families.

We Need Your Help

This is your opportunity to provide support for a revitalized YMCA in Ponte Vedra Beach. Investing in the project will bring the Y’s mission of strengthening communities to life. The improvements will address facility needs and position us to respond to growth and future community challenges and opportunities. Gifts of any amount will make a difference and help change lives. A variety of naming opportunities are available. To make a contribution to this campaign, donate online or contact Cara Roach at croach@fcymca.org or 904.543.9622.

The total amount of the Capital Campaign is $4.1 million.
Yes, thanks to a generous gift from the Brown Family Foundation, effective October 24, 2022, the Y is now named the Brown Family YMCA.
An estimated completion date has not been finalized but the work will commence by Summer 2025.
To ensure our Y is serving today’s generation with an eye to the next, we need purposefully designed spaces to offer the types of programs and services children and adults need. Our facility is a tool that helps us deliver on our mission. With limited space, an aging infrastructure, and barriers to access, we know we must do more.
The Y is committed to building a healthier, stronger First Coast for all. We are always looking for opportunities to upgrade our facilities to better serve the needs of our neighbors. Expanding Ys in growing communities, including the Brown Family YMCA in Ponte Vedra Beach and the Winston Family YMCA in Riverside, allows us to serve more people which strengthens the stability of our overall operations so we can provide greater access to Y programs and services to those living in under-resourced communities.
