When you volunteer at the Y, you take an active role in bringing about meaningful, enduring change right in your own neighborhood.
Across the U.S., more than 230,000 people volunteer at the Y. That’s thousands of neighbors, business leaders, parents, teens, community advocates and individuals who want to give back. Y volunteers give people of all ages—from all walks of life—the resources and support they need to be healthy, confident, connected and secure. Our volunteers are critical to implementing everything that happens at the Y and in their communities.

For Teens
What if your summer could be more than just chill days and scrolling?
What if you could actually do something big—for your community and for yourself?Join the YMCA’s Summer of Service and team up with other teens to volunteer, give back, and make a difference in real lives. From helping out at events to mentoring kids or supporting local food drives, there’s something for everyone—and it looks great on college and job applications, too.

For Everyone
Volunteers of the Y lead our boards and committees, raise funds to ensure the Y is accessible to all members of the community, coach our sports teams, motivate and support youth through mentoring, extend a hand to adults who want to do more, be more or live healthier, advocate for the Y’s efforts to influence policies and initiatives that positively impact the community, and participate in special events that provide opportunities to give back and support neighbors.
