Low Impact Dance Classes

A variety of lower-impact dance classes can be found across the First Coast YMCA. These classes offer the same high-energy as our dance classes, but with lower impact to the joints. Classes such as Low Impact, Line Dancing, AOA Dance, and Zumba® Gold offer exhilarating and community-building fitness fun! These classes are also wonderful for those newer to dance fitness and exercise.

Low Impact Dance classes have numerous benefits for all levels!

Tips and Preparation

For the best possible experience, new class participants are encouraged to arrive to class early to meet the instructor. No experience is necessary!

  • Come dressed ready to move your body. Wear comfortable, functional workout clothing made of breathable material to allow air flow. Clothing that allows for freedom of movement is recommended.
  • Wear proper athletic shoes with a comfortable fit. Open-toed and/or open-backed shoes, slides, and Crocs will not be permitted. Cross-training shoes designed for lateral movement are highly recommended.
  • Please bring water and a sweat towel.
