Deep Water

Our Deep Water aqua fitness class is held in 7-foot deep water.  This higher-intensity, low-impact class improves joint stability, coordination, heart health, and strength.  Have fun and get fit!

*Participants should be comfortable treading water and/or floating for a lengthened period of time.  Those possibly needing assistance in Deep Water classes are encouraged to arrive early to speak with the instructor prior to getting in the pool.

This class will take place at our YMCA branches with pools. Some of our pools are outdoors, while others are indoors. Please be sure to check your app for the schedule of classes to see what is available to you! Questions? Please visit or call the Welcome Center at your YMCA for assistance.

Tips and Preparation

New to class? Arrive a little early so our instructor can give you some pointers!

  • The Y provides any needed equipment for this class.
  • Come to class dressed and ready for the pool! Proper swim attire is required (swimsuit). No basketball shorts, street clothes, etc.
  • Water shoes (optional)
  • Towel and water bottle
