HIIT and Tabata

HIIT and Tabata are styles of interval training classes that are quick, challenging, effective, and efficient!
HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training, and classes will be composed of time-based training that alternates short periods of intense work with short recovery periods.
Tabata workouts consist of high-intensity exercises that are performed for eight rounds of 20 seconds on / 10 seconds off intervals.
Our HIIT and Tabata classes will get your heart rate up – and keep it up! – while providing a full-body workout.

HIIT and Tabata classes have numerous benefits for all levels!

Tips and Preparation

For the best possible experience, new class participants are encouraged to arrive to class early to meet the instructor and have time to gather and set up equipment. No experience is necessary!

  • The Y provides any needed equipment for these classes. Please bring your own workout mat. We suggest arriving early to set up your mat and any needed equipment.
  • Come to class dressed and ready to move your body.
  • Wear loose-fitting, functional workout clothing made of breathable material to allow air flow.
  • Wear proper athletic shoes with a comfortable fit. Open-toed and/or open-backed shoes, slides, and Crocs will not be permitted.
  • Start with light weights and resistance, focusing on proper technique and breath. Utilize options as needed!
  • Please bring water and a sweat towel.
