Aqua Toning is a workout designed to strengthen your body, improve your core stability, and better your balance. Class participants use a pool noodle and/or dumbbells for resistance while being lead through a variety of toning exercises. This class is a great option for beginners looking to start strengthening, as well as for those with limited range of motion or who are looking for a gentle form of exercise. More experienced exercisers that want to learn how to improve their overall muscle tone can also benefit. This class does not include any cardio component.
This class will take place at our YMCA branches with pools. Some of our pools are outdoors, while others are indoors. Please be sure to check your app for the schedule of classes to see what is available to you! Questions? Please visit or call the Welcome Center at your YMCA for assistance.
Tips and Preparation
New to class? Arrive a little early so our instructor can give you some pointers!
- The Y provides any needed equipment for this class.
- Come to class dressed and ready for the pool! Proper swim attire is required (swimsuit). No basketball shorts, street clothes, etc.
- Water shoes (optional)
- Towel and water bottle
