BODYPUMP®

This original barbell class from Les Mills challenges all of your major muscle groups by incorporating the best weight room exercises – such as squats, presses, curls, and lunges – into your workout. BODYPUMP® is the ultimate full-body, weight-training experience that will get you lean, toned, and fit – FAST!

BODYPUMP® is offered in 60-minute, 45-minute (Express), and 30-minute (Express 30) durations.

Tips and Preparation

For the best possible experience, new BODYPUMP® class participants are encouraged to arrive to class early to meet the instructor and have time to gather and set up equipment. No weightlifting experience is necessary!

  • The Y provides any needed equipment for these classes. Please bring your own workout mat. We suggest arriving early to set up your mat and equipment.
  • Come to class dressed and ready to move your body.
  • Wear loose-fitting, functional workout clothing made of breathable material to allow air flow.
  • Wear proper athletic shoes with a comfortable fit. Open-toed and/or open-backed shoes, slides, and Crocs will not be permitted.
  • Start with light weights – BODYPUMP® uses high repetition to tone and strengthen. Start gradually increasing weight after four to six weeks (or sooner, if you feel ready).
  • Protect your joints with proper technique. Perform movements intentionally and resist locking your joints.
  • Please bring water and a sweat towel.
