Before & Afterschool Program

Before and Afterschool child care is part of the Y’s focus on holistically fostering the physical, social and emotional development of kids of all ages.

At the Y, kids will learn more about their world, develop healthy relationships with adults and other kids, build self-reliance, get help with their schoolwork and more — all in a safe, nurturing environment.

The Before and Afterschool program is offered at more than 40 sites across the First Coast for children ages 5-12 in elementary school. Some sites also offer programming for middle school students. Please contact your nearest Y location for more information.

Military Savings

Active military E1 – E5 can save 20% per week for a limited time.  This discount is based on funding support and may not be available for the entire school year.  Military ID by legal guardian of child(ren) must be provided in person at your local Y to receive discount prior to the Monday of the camp week.

Financial Assistance

Scholarships, in the form of financial assistance, are awarded to families interested in participating in YMCA programs, like our Before and After School Program. To determine eligibility, a family must complete a financial assistance application and supply all necessary supporting documentation. A member of the YMCA professional staff team will review applications confidentially and make award determinations based on a sliding scale. We are sensitive to extenuating circumstances, and will readily discuss needs a family may have beyond what their household income would indicate.

After School Meals

YMCA Afterschool Programs have applied to participate in the Child Care Food Program at those sites that qualify. All children who attend our YMCA afterschool program will receive an optional free afternoon snack.
