Small group training gives participants an extra edge, encouraging community building while focusing on individual progression, athleticism, endurance, and stamina. With a smaller group size, a certified YMCA trainer is able to provide personalized coaching, helping participants to achieve their fitness goals faster.


Our Small Group Training sessions are led by Certified Personal Trainers. YMCA Personal Trainers have and maintain certification through at least one national health and fitness organization.

A variety of classes and times are offered throughout the Association. Check with your branch to see what Small Group Training program is available to you!


Y Fit

Y Fit sessions include strength and conditioning for the person looking for a challenge! A wide variety of equipment and formats may be used, including but not limited to battle ropes, rowers, treadmills, weights, group cycles, TRX, straps, BOSU balls, plyo boxes, and more!


LES MILLS STRENGTH DEVELOPMENT™

LES MILLS STRENGTH DEVELOPMENT™ is a NEW, science-backed progressive strength training program designed to build muscle, improve technique, and enhance confidence.


Women on Weights

This program is led by a certified personal trainer and is designed specifically for women! Our female participants will be guided in overcoming common barriers, addressing frequently asked questions women have on the wellness floor, and teaching effective weightlifting form and exercises. Open to members and non-members.


Men on Weights

Men on Weights is led by a certified personal trainer and is similar to our Women on Weights program – but designed specifically with men in mind! Male participants will be guided through sessions that focus on building strength through proper technique and training methods. Participant confidence will grow as skills are gained and safe, effective strength training is learned. Open to members and non-members.


Teen Strength

This personal trainer-led program is designed to introduce youth athletes – and non-athletes – to the fundamentals of strength. Each session focuses on developing key components of athletic performance, including strength and agility. Participants will learn how to move with control, build total-body strength, and improve coordination. Open to members and non-members.


Silver Strength

Silver Strength is a dynamic and engaging fitness program designed specifically for seniors who want to improve their strength. Led by a certified personal trainer, this program offers a welcoming community where you can safely challenge yourself and stay active. Open to members and non-members.
